Solution
The first few days were spent understanding requriements for the project. From there, I did multiple contextual inquiries with current users, helping me udnedtand both the current system, and the users themselves. This lead to the creation of the two personae we were targting - the IBOR Ops user, and the IBOR Ops Manager.
From there, we drilled into the Top Tasks for users, finally landing on the Top 6, which helped us understand initial layout options, and lead to a good first pass at the architecture.
Next we started in on an iterative approach to wireframes, doing numerous turns to get the UI to a place we felt good about. Once there, we utilized State Street's Nexus Design System to build a final UI.
We then utitlized the research team and Dovetail to get feedback from actual users, doing three rounds of concept testing and one round of usability testing to get the design to a good place.
